From January 2009, the UNESCO Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science will be offering a new executive-style LLM programme in Water Law (subject to final formal approval).
This programme will be offered in full-time and part-time mode; the part-time programme will include some distance learning component. The full-time programme will last 12 - 24 months, and the part-time programme will last a minimum of 24 months. The start date for the full-time programme will be January 2009.
Indicative content:
* Innovative executive-style LLM programme delivering core modules in water law (international, national and transnational/governance)
* International water law (transboundary / international relations; UN)
* Comparative national water law (right to water; frameworks for entitlement)
* Transnational water law and regulation of water services (PPP and governance)
* Options include international environmental law, international project finance, energy law, European energy policy; international business transactions; international dispute settlement (subject to time-tabling each year)
* Dissertation module, which may be replaced by a work-based project or appropriate internship
