1. Soil Conservation and Watershed Management Program. It is geared to arrest soil erosion through the adoption of soil and water conservation measures. 2. Southern Philippines Irrigation Sector Project - Watershed Management Sub-Component (October 1999 - June 2006). It aims to maintain or improve the hydrologic integrity of the watershed areas, thus, avoid any depreciation of the downstream benefits of the irrigation systems. 3.Water Resources Development Project (DENR Component). It aims to formulate a national water resources management strategy that reflect the nation's social, economic and environmental objectives; adopt a river basin approach, integrating land-use policies and agricultural practices with water management; prepare and implement catchment management plans to properly improve upstream watersheds for sustaining irrigation and other projects, assuming water quality, and protecting aquatic ecosystems; improve the performance of existing national irrigation systems and emphasize decentralized management with participation of stakeholders and greater cost recovery. 4. Southern Mindanao Integrated Coastal Zone Mangement Project (January 1999 - January 2007). It aims to undertake the implementation of an integrated environmental protection and management of critical ecosystems as imperative to sustainable development in Gen. Santos City, South Cotabato, Sarangani & Davao del Sur.
